Game Security / Anti-Cheat

BigBro.dll

BigBro.dll is an open-source anti-cheat SDK for game developers. It ships as a single C++20 DLL that combines compiled-in native detections with a sandboxed JavaScript rule engine, so studios can add and tune protections without shipping a separate agent.

Problem

Client-side anti-cheat has to detect debugging, code injection, memory tampering and timing manipulation from inside a hostile process, while staying hard to fingerprint and reverse. Most studios either build this from scratch or depend on heavy third-party agents.

Approach

The SDK compiles eighteen native checks (for debuggers, injection, memory tampering and timing anomalies) into a single obfuscated DLL with ordinal-only exports and direct syscall stubs to keep its surface small. A Duktape-based JavaScript engine lets developers express custom rules in a sandbox, while AES-256-GCM encryption and ECDSA P-256 attestation protect the integrity of results, and fiber-based execution keeps the checks lightweight at runtime.
